Landmarks/Attractions
One of the many attractions in the "Nile River Valley" is the the Temple of Karnak. This Temple is a historic complex that contains ancient ruins. These temples dates back to the time of Pharaoh Rameses II, and from around 1391 to 1351 BC. This religious place is THE biggest in the world even bigger than Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral. The Temple of Karnak was dedicated to the Egyptian gods, Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. The area sacred to Amun is measured SIXTY-ONE acres and could hold 10 European Cathedrals.
Abu Simbel Temple Complex
The next attraction is the Abu Simbel Temple Complex. This complex includes two Temples. They are carved into a cliff in the Nile River, the big one is called, "The Great Temple" and the other is called, "The Small Temple". They are based on the Nile River.
The Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings is a valley in Egypt where for a period of 500 years between the 16th and 11th century B.C was a place where tombs were constructed for Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the new kingdom.
